Associate Therapeutic Practitioner & Social Worker

Safi is an experienced therapeutic practitioner with over 25 years of experience, dedicated to working with individuals of all ages in overcoming mental health challenges, supporting adults with learning disabilities, and assisting those affected by domestic abuse and addiction. Throughout her career, she has served within various sectors including the NHS, children and family services, and the third sector.

With a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work, Safi has equipped herself with a comprehensive understanding of therapeutic methodologies. Her expertise lies in employing diverse therapeutic approaches to facilitate sustainable change and enhance overall well-being. As a trauma-informed practitioner Safi is adept at utilising methodologies such as Motivational Enhancement Therapy, coaching, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, recovery support planning and Socratic questioning.

Beyond direct practice, Safi is committed to sharing her knowledge and capacity building. She has conducted extensive training sessions covering a wide array of topics, notably including the psychological ramifications of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and the promotion of positive body image among young girls.

Furthermore, Safi has a wealth of experience in delivering parenting programs and specialised training initiatives tailored to engage traditionally hard-to-reach communities. Her focus remains steadfast on breaking down barriers and fostering inclusive environments conducive to personal growth and community empowerment.
